Barry Bonds hits no. 755
And we were there to see him tie Henry Aaron! We bought tickets months in advance because we were going to be in town for a conference. We never really expected the "chase" to last this long, but as the summer wore on and he had a few stretches without any homers we started to realize that we might actually have a chance of witnessing history. It was quite the site with police and cameras everywhere. I think we were in disbelief that he actually hit a home run as we were thinking he might try to do it in front of his hometown fans (the only ones who don't usually boo him) but when he hit the ball everyone started going crazy in the stands and he got a huge ovation afterwards. It was something we'll likely never forget - even Jake remembers it. If you look hard you can see us on the cover of the Sports Illustrated the following week.

La Jolla Beach
We took a quick side trip to the beach in La Jolla while we were in San Diego for a conference. How could anyone resist throwing this sand?

Point no Point
One of our weekend trips to Point no Point. It's a great beach in Hansville about 20 minutes from our house.

New York
A great trip to New York. We took a week and wandered around New York without a plan or schedule. It was fantastic. Jake loved the Subway, Central Park and Taxis. Mom and Dad probably enjoyed Central Park the most. It's an amazing city. We stayed at the Bean's apartment in Washington Heights (uptown Manhattan) while they were away in Tokyo which made it feel authentic. The Yankees game was rained out but we didn't care - who wants to watch the Yankees anyways! There's so much to see that we'll definitely need to get back soon.
