For Reals?!

One day Jake asked us who the statue in the park was. We told him it was Leif Erikson, a Viking who lived a long time ago. Ever since he has thought that it's actually Leif Erikson and can't figure out how they did that. We've tried to convince him it's a statue of Leif and not really the man Leif, but he's just sure it's the real thing.

That's Solid!

I'm not so sure Payton enjoyed her first solids. You be the judge:

37 years ago on March 18, 1972!

Jake's expression says it all. 37 years!! You guys are old (Richard Nixon was the President and a stamp was only $.08)! Happy Anniversary! Here's to the next 37 - may they be even better than the previous years (if that's even possible now that your wonderful kids have moved out!). After all those years you still seem like a very happy couple - enjoy your day!

The Sculpture Park

The Sculpture Park is one of our favorite spots. Even though it was rainy at first, the sun did make a quick appearance and we had tons of fun.

There's lots of room to run..........

...............a great rock-throwing beach............

...........and paths to walk on.

Payton spent most of the time asleep.  No complaints here.  I'll take any chance I get for a little extra snuggle time.  This was one great day!

Life to the Fullest

Our Jake. He's inquisitive, caring, funny, and full of life. He is pure energy wrapped up in one 4 year old body. The world is an exciting place full of possibilities when you take a minute to step back and view it through his eyes.

Rarely will you get a picture of Jake sitting down (at least not willingly). You'd better be quick because it probably won't last long!

Jake has great facial expressions. He's definitely not the stoic type.

I love this picture. If you look closely both of Jake's feet are off the ground. This picture embodies pure joy in the form of a little boy with lots of room to run.

You and Me........Together

No matter how busy life may get, the best part of any day is the time we get to spend together.

Scenery

These are a few cool scene shots from our afternoon at the Sculpture Park today.

Backpack rides

Payton went for her first ride in the backpack and seemed to enjoy it.  We went for a short hike to the beach at Foulweather Bluff with Grandma and Grandpa Steiner and had a great time.  Jake's picture is from his first ride when he was one (obviously before his first haircut).  It's hard to tell in the pictures, but Dad is the one wearing the pack.  Melissa says it doesn't fit her right.  Hmmmm.

Jake's too big for the backpack now - but he somehow convinced Grandpa Joe to carry him.
