Golfer Chick
Payton is 8 months old! Dad and Jake are hoping the subliminal vibes from the hat will sink in so that Payton will be a golfer, too.

All I Want for Christmas........
Toothless no more! Payton's first tooth came through on Mother's Day. It was quickly joined by the second of her bottom teeth.
Pacific Science Center
Last week I went on a field trip with Jake's preschool class to the Pacific Science Center. We had lots of fun. By the end of the day there were 8 very tired 4 and 5 year olds!

On the bus heading to the ferry.

Riding the ferry to Seattle.

Jake and his inseparable buddy John daring each other to be the first to hold the hermit crabs.

Giant bug puzzles were much cooler than the boring old butterfly house!

Although technically you're supposed to aim the water at targets, it was much more fun to aim it at each other!
It was hilarious to watch the four of these guys run in this hamster wheel to make the water run through the paddle wheel. Too much fun!

A Hoppin' Good Time
I think we spend hours on the trampoline. Rain or shine, and even a time or two in the snow, we spend many a good afternoon jumping, laying and making shapes out of the clouds and talking. The trampoline is also a favorite spot to bring pillows and blankets to watch the 3rd of July fireworks show every year. Today was a sprinkler jumping kind of day (a favorite variation during nice weather). Jake had a blast!

Viking Fest
This weekend was Viking Fest. Along with the 3rd of July Fireworks, the is the other big annual festival we have during the year.

Waiting for the parade to start.

Jason found us the perfect parade-watching spot complete with shade and a wall to sit on.

We were near the end of the parade route, so one of the high school kids giving out candy gave Jake everything he had left. I'll have to write him a personal thank-you note complete with an invitation to babysit. Better yet, it can join the halloween candy that is still sitting untouched in our pantry.

After the parade, we braved the crowds at the carnival to get a funnel cake. It was worth every gooey, sticky bite.

I'm Not Sure I'm Ready For This....
I can't believe how fast time has gone! We went to register Jake for Kindergarten this week. It seems just like yesterday that we were excited for his first smiles, first words, first steps. Now he's growing so fast and we're making the big step to elementary school. He's really excited, so I'm excited, too, even though I really do wish I could slow time down just a bit.

On our way to Kindergarten registration.

Jake's new school!
