Dear Ashley,

Thank you for the markers/paper and book (and for finally posting more pictures on your blog). They are a huge hit!

Seasons of Change

The weather simply cannot make up it's mind these days, so after a week of cooler weather and rain we hit the beach for a picnic and day of sunshine. Payton loved, loved playing in the sand. Jason and Jake caught jellyfish (apparently stingerless since he was only willing to capture the poor creatures after watching some little girls holding them first!) and played catch. Really, though, I think Jake was playing fetch since he kept aiming for the water and squealing with delight as Jason ran in to get the ball and Jake yelled "watch out for the jellyfish, Dad!"

The End of Days

The end of days as we've known them. Jake is now a kindergartener. So, I fully realize it's impossible to keep my kiddos time warped so they stay little forever (I've done research. It is not possible!). And I also know that there will be more of life's milestones to come, but this one was hard (there may or may not have been tears.) And I look forward to long weekends just a bit more than before so we can all be together just one more day.

Falling

I think we're on borrowed time. There is one lonely yellow leaf among the green on our maple tree and the air is starting to feel like fall more days than not. So, we decided to spend what time we could in between rain showers outside today. It actually turned out to be really nice, even if a bit chilly, for the few hours we made it out. We'd better appreciate the blue skies while they last!
