Days Gone By
I’m not exactly sure where February has gone, but it’s been fun:
Payton absolutely loves to sit with me in the mornings while I get ready and do her “make-up” at the same time. I got her a make-up bag of her own with some lip gloss and chapstick. She’s carried it around for days. I think Jason even got the beauty treatment by her last weekend, although he managed to avoid the camera. Next time……
We were back at the beach last weekend while the sun made a quick appearance. It was really cold, but the sun felt so very nice. I can’t wait until we can visit the beach without being bundled up in no less than 52 layers.

Cooperation
Jake and Payton love to get a rise out of each other. They’ve gotten it to an art form. Jake can make Payton squeal in 2.1 seconds flat. Payton, just to be part of the excitement, can make Jake yell “Payton!” just as fast. Some days I hear “MOM……….” no less than 1,317 times. Really. But last night both kids played for quite a while. Together. Quietly. I captured the moment just so I can prove to them that it really happened. I think I’ll post it on the fridge just for evidentiary value.

Our Place
We spend lots of time down at the marina. So while Payton was home recovering from pneumonia where better to be than our special place?
Ka-pow!
Payton loves to make handprints.
We do it often. Really often.
We keep all of them. Partly at Payton’s insistence, but mostly because I love that she takes such pride in her artwork. I have bins and bins of artwork from the kids. It may be borderline obsessive.
See? Isn’t it beautiful? Picasso and all that.
Tuckered
Even though the block was deserted because all other life forms seemed to have deemed it too cold to be playing outside, and even though we quite nearly turned into popcicles, I had to get outside (enter “may have gone crazy being cooped up inside for even one more second” here). So up we bundled and out we went. The kids got a much needed release for their pent up energy and tired themselves out. And me? I got my sanity back.
